Novel Foundations: Scenes and Structure

Writing course desk.png

A four week course on how to structure a novel — for anyone who's ever thought "I want to write a book, I just don't know where to start."

Finding structure within a story is always a challenge, whether you’re writing the beginning, middle or end of your novel. Your characters and your world can be beautifully rendered, but if your plot lacks foundational tension and conflict, your novel will feel flat. Author Carolyn Cohagan offers this structure workshop that will help your writing no matter what stage you are in. Using the 3-Act structure, character arcs, and The Hero’s Journey, she will give you storytelling fundamentals that will elevate your plots and keep your readers invested in your characters.

This course will have a workshop/critique component as well as weekly exercises to help build technique.
